#MumbaiMissionforTBControl - A #GlobalModel & Collaborative Effort"
A collaborative effort and #partnership between the #MunicipalCorporationofGreaterMumbai (#MCGM) and #USCentersforDiseaseControlandPrevention (#CDC), called the Mumbai Mission for TB Control since 2014 led #India's #NationalTBEliminationProgramme (#NTEP) to award #Mumbai the bronze award for reaching 70% of its TB elimination targets in Three zones (#Ghatkopar, #GrantRoad and #Prabhadevi) and the silver award for reaching 80% in #Parel.
#CDC is also working with #MCGM and implementing partner #SHAREINDIA on developing two future projects in TB.
1. Catching up on the TB activities that were hampered due to #COVID19, namely TB notification and #TBpreventivetreatment for persons exposed to patients with tuberculosis.
2. Improving the #diagnosis of #PediatricTB through novel methods (like using stool for diagnosis in children) recently endorsed by the #WorldHealthOrganization.
